Jakob's First Day of School!!

Jakob's first day of school this year was still hard for me... i think that maybe it will be like this every year on the first day. Knowing that he would be there all day and that my time with him each day will be cut in half, well that was sad for me. Jakob is now a head and shoulders shorter then all the kids in his class but you wouldn't know it by talking to him. He doesn't care at all that he is the shortest.

This is a picture of Jakob at breakfast. My mom came over to watch the two little boys while I took Jakob to school. Parents were invited on the first day and the teacher talked to us about what to expect out of the class room. Jakob wanted to take his lunch on the first day so I made his lunch, grilled cheese sandwhich with grapes fruit snacks and a juice box.MMMMM!!!!

He was very patient with me while i had him pose for each picture. Of coarse I had to get one of him with a number one held up for first grade.

Jakob at his desk at school. Isn't he so cute!!! i just want to squeeze him!

See what I mean about his size:)

After a long day of school! He is growing up so fast and is so smart sometimes I wonder how i got so lucky!! He is a sweet boywhats not to love!!

finally Internet!!

For the past couple of months we have had some Internet trouble but now i can catch all of u bloggers up on whats happened in the Burch house!! I am so excited to finally post I don't know where to start. I guess I'll start with all the time we've spent outside this summer it was so fun now that all the kids are walking and discovering things for themselves. These pictures are of one night when we first moved into our house. . .the boys got loose outside without their clothes on they were so cute i had to take some pics!! This one of Zakry wearing his older brothers shoes is pretty cute!! Even though it isn't a very good picture it kinda shows what Mikah decided to wear. Undies that are on backwards with socks and yes, those are flip flops! (two different flip flops!!) He is so funny!!

Of coarse you cant play outside without looking for bugs!! Jakob found some great bugs for his bug catcher(although he wouldn't touch them to put them in it. . . mom had to do that part. What we won't do for our children right?)

Old Friends New Memories!

Our good friends Jon and Helen that we met while going to school down in K Falls came to visit us last weekend. We had a great time! Helen and I got to work on a quilt for another good friend of ours who is having a baby soon and it felt so good to get back behind the machine again!! We just talked and sewed and well watched five kids. . .but it was real nice. We had a BBQ while they were here which was fun but I had lost my camera or it mysteriously disappeared somehow. . .(ahem ,Jakob)but anyway till Sunday when we decided to take a day trip or a sun trip as Jakob would call it to Walla Walla for the day. ( Jon and Helen are looking for jobs around here they like the area and there were job openings in walla walla so we went to check out the town). We got lunch at the Ice burg and then took it to the park to eat too bad it was like 105 degrees outside so we were all hot and pretty much miserable but we made the best of it. The boys had to play ball of course! And then the ice cream man came with the loudest music I have ever heard one play before we almost had to break out the earplugs but the kids were hot and so were we so we splurged for some 25cent Popsicles to help cool us down.
I LOVE POPSICLE FACES!!!!!

Rob and I shared one how romantic right? I took this picture of Ann and i love it she is so cute!! The last time I saw her was a year ago she loved me from the first minute she walked in the door and so naturally I fell in love back she like the girl I never had!!! Plus I get to spoil her and not deal with the diapers and all that other stuff.

After we ate our Popsicles we went to see the birds they have all kinds of birds and the kids loved to see them. It was so hot we didn't get to see many of them but it was fun!Of course we couldn't leave until Jakob found his feather.

Bunk Beds!

Sorry it's been so long since the last post!! So Jakob had been begging us for a bunkbed forever maybe a year or so and a couple months ago we broke down and did it and he and Mikah LOVE it I took some photos of the first night they slept on it and have been meaning to post them but kept forgetting anyway. . .here it is. It's not my favorite type of wood but it hides the scratches pretty well so thats a plus!!

It was hard taking pics of the top bunk and well the bears are always in the way. . . can't sleep without them!

Memories

Here is a fun little game (thanks to Sara)... leave a comment on my blog of a memory you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time. It can be funny, embarrassing, whatever. Anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Of Course the Fourth!!!

The fourth of July started out great Rob had to work that day so I got to go shopping even though I had to take the kids my mother -in-law came so it wasn't bad at all. I didn't get very much fun stuff some new sheets for our bed (because Jakob decided to have a nose bleed all over our other ones) new pillows and a couple shirts. The funnest part about shopping was watching the boys get their picture taken at the sketch booth in the middle of the mall. It was hilarious! First of all they were all too short and had to stand on the bench for the camera to see them and second they were all competing for the most camera space they all wanted to be in the front! The end result was funny and just like them! Mikah had a poutey face Zakry had a huge smile but wasn't looking at the camera and Jakob was mostly out of the picture you can see my hand trying to get them all in the right place. . . .like it worked though.

After shopping we went to McDonalds to play in the playplace with Aunt Trisha and Uncle Carson. The boys always think that's fun. We went home after that for naps and to wait for daddy to get home. There were family issues this year so we weren't able to have a BBQ so we got Aunt Tara and went out for BBQ at the new Famous Daves place. It was good! Then it was off to the fireworks show!! Aunt Tara bought all the kids glow sticks so they had fun throwing them and running after them I bought matching 4th clothes for all the boys and was disappointed after the fact that I never got a picture of them all together in them. Sad day right? Anyway the fireworks were fun.

Jakob had fun despite the look on his face in this picture and we very rarely get pictures with all of us in it!!

I thought this was cute Mikah is hiding and Jakob has finally decided it was ok to watch now.

After the show we went back to Aunt Tara's house for sparklers and Goodies. Shmoores as Jakob would call it and yummy cupcakes!!!
It was a very long day and an even later night but we had a blast!!

In memory of Rachel Buch

Grandma passed away in her sleep monday July 7th. We loved her so much. It was such a blessing for us that she was able to spend her last few months in Howard and Janelle's (my father and mother-in-law's) home. We would not have seen her and gotten to know her nearly as well and for that I feel we are truely blessed. Our boys had fun riding on her wheel chair and walker. She thought the world of her grandchildren, and one of her greatest joys was watching her great grandchidren run around. . .literally. She used to tease them and occsionally they would get her to play basketball with them. Some of my fondest memories of her were takeing her to the Olive Garden with the girls (Tara and Trisha), and talking to her about her life over dinner. Although her passing has brought sorrow it has also brought joy to those of us who know that we will see her again and that she has been reunited with her husband and son. We love you Grandma and will always remember your excited and danceing eyes.
